Mission Statement
The Armchair Activist is a grass-roots, online initiative to help busy citizens easily and quickly register their concerns with appropriate congressional representatives regarding the vital issues shaping our nation and the world.

More to the point, The Armchair Activist is meant to be a constructive and self-empowering mechanism for those who disapprove of the ideological principals and policies of the Bush administration and want to do something about it. To that end, we invite you to subscribe to our "Activist Alert List" on this page.

Active involvement in the political process is not only a right, but the profound obligation of every American. Those of us who believe in such things as personal liberty, economic opportunity for working people and an enlightened foreign policy can no longer afford to be complacent. Unless enough people who share a progressive vision of our country join in exerting their constitutional rights, those rights will become more and more imperiled .

The extreme right-leaning policies of the Bush administration over the last two and a half years are stark reminders of the need for a spirited and organized voice of opposition. But not only that; as forward thinking citizens, we must also organize to select and support a worthy democratic candidate to replace Mr. Bush in 2004. It is not hard to imagine the consequences that would befall this country and the world if the Bush administration is allowed to carry out its extremist policies for another term of office.

This is your chance to stop making excuses about being too busy and get involved. So join The Armchair Activist email program. Tell your friends. There has never been a time when it is more important to exercise your rights and make a difference.

Who We Are
ArmchairActivist.info was started by a small group of friends in Los Angeles who had very little experience in politics but were fed up with the extremist policies and the manipulations that the Bush administration uses to promote it's ideologies. We felt that there were many others, like us, who, given the opportunity, would appreciate a simple but effective way to make their voices heard. Armchair Activist is self-funded and does not seek contributions for its operations or programs. We do however, welcome comments and suggestions.
